Christine Steinmetz is a registered dietitian and a certified specialist in sports dietetics. Christine completed her undergraduate studies with a bachelor of science in nutrition and dietetics from Saint Louis University while competing on SLU’s women’s soccer team. She completed her master of science in clinical nutrition at Rush University Medical Center in 2013. Since becoming a registered dietitian, Christine has worked in fitness centers, physical therapy clinics and most recently with Purdue University’s Athletic Department assisting 10 of their 18 intercollegiate teams to effectively fuel and hydrate through individualized and team-based nutrition plans.
At Purdue Christine assisted athletes from all sports and was specifically responsible for the nutrition programming of men’s/women’s swimming and diving, men’s/women’s golf, men’s/women’s cross country, men’s/women’s track and field, women’s basketball, men’s wrestling and the Spirit Squad.
Christine’s interests include sports nutrition with an emphasis on weight management (weight gain and loss) and recovery from injury. Along with her certification in sports dietetics, she also has a certificate of training in adult weight management. When she isn’t helping athletes achieve their nutrition or body composition goals, Christine enjoys playing soccer, practicing yoga, watching Chicago sports and cooking nutritious meals with the people she loves.
